Fallen Angels
By Ian Stevens

When I was drowning in a endless pit
of corroding darkness within;
when I was in pain and no one knew it,
because I became one with sin,

I cried and cried for help
for God to clean me,
and in his house I knelt
and prayed for someone to see.

I soon thought all hope was lost
and dreams faded in the sands of time;
at the time my heart was covered in frost
I was saved by two angels divine.

God really did bless me;
when I prayed to him he opened a door.
I know this because these angels I see
are friends that I would do anything for.

The two people who are my true friends,
whom I believe are really from heaven,
would gladly stick by me until the end
and help me destroy all of sin's illusions.

When I lose faith in myself
and don't know what has become of me,
they will take time away from themselves
and help me see who I need to be.

I used to feel burned and broken
like I was merely an empty shell,
and I used to never open
in fear of more pain within this hell,

but they came and listened to what I said
and were ready to extend that open hand
saving me when I wanted to be dead
and showing me the road to the promised land.

Now with true friends by my side,
whom I love just as much as my mother,
in them I am confident to confide
for I would never trade them for another.

Whenever my heart or mind aches
or if I stray from the person I should be
they heal me and help make
my eyes open and see what I need to see

for they are my true friends
taking away all sorrow, pain and anger
and help me all the way to the end
for they really are just fallen angels.
