Lone Beast
By Ian Stevens

Lurking in a dark shadow within the forest,
stealthily wandering the frigid woods alone
is a tough, yet beautiful creature walking in the night;
traveling up a rocky cliff, it howls at the moon white as bone.

The wolf is a fierce majestic beast
that defends his territory and will not come down.
It is a silent assassin, hunting for its next prey
to claw its throat and watch it, in its own blood, drown.

Eating and tearing the flesh apart to fulfill his needs,
one is not to disturb such might;
despite the gruesome horror of when it feeds
it is still an amazing and great sight.

Traveling to the top of the highest barren peak,
the wolf wanders throughout the night.
He looks at the moon and roars in attempt to seek
his companions and to show the forest his incredible might.
