Lost Soul
By Ian Stevens

No one notices
No one cares
No one knows that I'm even there

An empty shadow
A lonely shell
A lost soul in neither heaven nor hell

If you look into my eyes, all you'll see
is the dark abyss that consumes me.
My tears fall into the river of time
as I wonder if salvation will ever be mine.

In the rain
In the snow
No one will ever know

Where I lay
Where I cry
Where I wither away and die

The flame of hope, about to go out,
is finally gone by the winds of doubt;
the cold ashes that are left behind
mix with the barren snow so cruel and unkind.

All these storms
That I find
Are raging all throughout my mind

As icy hate
And cold love meet
Covering everything in sleet

Numbing and killing the life inside,
freezing over faith from all the lies.
The white, icy wasteland where nothing can grow
is the emptiness inside, reaped and sown.

For a lost soul like me
happiness is impossible to find
because the only friend is darkness divine;
I'm wanting to waste away in the sands of time
where peace shall finally be mine.....
