Memories
By Ian Stevens

Darkness divine,
happiness resigns
as crystalline tears flow down a face of stone.

I sit and sigh
then start to cry
for my soul feels empty and ever so alone.

Lurking in the back of the shadows,
pondering at the purpose of my life;
love and hope seems to have gone
as I sit helplessly in the never ending flow of time.

Pitch black sky
and a light caught your eye.
I wish I could have a star like that of the night.

Beautiful star,
everlasting scar;
I want to forget and see in hope's eternal light.

Just one of those days when memories hurt most,
can't seem to stop thinking about that day
even though it really is time to move on
the pain just doesn't seem to want to go away.
