My first poem was Broken Into Pieces (written October of 2005) and after that I came to write many more poems. I have over 100 poems currently (not all of them are posted on this site) and I am writing more to come. Most of my poems deal with pure emotion or other widespread topics such as: love and hate, life and death, pain and sorrow, God and Satan, etc. Some of them are inspired by true events. Other poems are simply to explore the different doors there are in the vast world of poetry. When I write poems, I explore the different ways to express what I want to say. I have experimented with radically different formats, rhyme schemes (sometimes not rhyming at all), unusual visual representations, and specific word choice to try to express a certain feeling, story, or picture in my head. In many of my poems I try to fully express such things as hatred, sadness, emptiness, happiness, love, and kindness. I try to write in such a way that the reader can actually feel the emotion to it's fullest extent or see the story and picture lurking in my head. This being said I want my readers to understand that, though at times I may write a poem simply because I feel a certain emotion and I just need some way to express it, my ultimate goal in writing is to create poetry that tells exactly what I want it to tell, shows what I need it to show, and expresses exactly what I want it to express. If it were even possible to write "the perfect poem" I would love to, but it is not. I can only strive towards this unknown truth found within poetry by small steps.
